5 Must-Eat Foods for a Healthy Bladder

Jennipher Walters - DietsInReview.com
Bladder infections and related issues are never any fun. But did you know that eating certain foods can actually help prevent problems from ever starting? True story. Be sure that the below five foods are a part of your regular diet to keep your bladder healthy! Not only will they contribute to overall bladder health, they're healthy foods that should be a part of regular diet anyway.

1. Cranberries. This fruit is the most common bladder-health remedy, and for good reason. Proprieties in cranberries have been found to create a thermodynamic energy shield that keeps virulent bacteria, like the kind that create urinary tract infections, from attaching to the wall of the bladder. No virulent bacteria? No urinary tract infections!

Try this recipe: Simple Mashed Cranberries

2. Pears. Pears are a high-alkaline food that help balance an overly acidic system. Having a balanced system keeps bladder issues at bay.

Try this recipe: Blue Cheese and Pear Salad

3. Whole Grains. Whole-grain breads, oatmeal and the like are great for the bladder because they give your system fiber. When you're eating a proper amount of fiber (25 grams a day is recommended for most adults), your digestive system keeps moving along (read: no constipation), which puts less pressure on your bladder and allows it to function as it should.

Try this recipe: Whole Grain Pancakes

4. Water. Drinking eight to ten glasses of water a day keeps your system flushed and clean. Being properly hydrated is key to good having a healthy bladder. How much do you need? Take your body weight and divide in half, now drink that many ounces each day. (i.e. 150 pounds = 75 ounces)

Try this recipe: Bob Harper's Electrolyte Water

5. Yogurt. According to research from Sweden, eating two servings a day of yogurt can reduce your risk of bladder cancer by up to 40 percent. Forty percent! (For women, it also reduces the chance of a yeast infection. Double win!)

Try this recipe: Peach Yogurt Pops

Those with bladder issues should also avoid smoking, caffeine, citrus and spicy foods as these can aggravate the bladder. Thankfully, bladder-friendly foods are also healthy foods, so while you eat for bladder health, you also fuel your entire body with good nutrition!

Save cancer with Broccoli(penyembuhan kanker)

people who eat an abundance of broccoli have fewer cancers of the colon, breast, cervix, lungs, prostate, esophagus, larynx, and bladder. Broccoli contains indoles, which can help inactivate harmful estrogens that can promote the growth of tumors, sulforaphane, which stimulates cells to produce cancer-fighting enzymes, and beta-carotene, another cancer fighter.

Broccoli also contains a class of potent anti-carcinogens (cancer-combating agents) called isothiocyanates. These compounds block many cancer-causing agents in a wide variety of cancers. But before deciding that isothiocyanates are a cure-all, it's useful to note that these sulfur compounds vary from one variety to another. For example, the SAGA-type contains an extraordinary source of isothiocyanates, while the Winchester variety has only a negligible supply. Odds are slim that the generic broccoli in your neighborhood store is a SAGA-type.

The most important indole in broccoli — indole-3-carbinol, or I3C — is thought to be an especially effective breast cancer prevention agent.
